School Council

Our School Council represents the views of all our pupils. It gives children the opportunity to make their voices heard and feel part of the whole school community.

A new school council is elected each year. Children in classes Y3-Y6 vote for the nominee they think would be the best representative for their class.

The School Council meet with Mrs Jones regularly to express their views and to make decisions. They also have meetings with the headteacher about their proposals and provide an update of their meeting agendas.

Our School Council are very keen to help make our school the best it can be!

Autumn Term

Last week our school council members met with two of our school Governors.  Mrs Zelazowski and Mr Kinch wished to meet with them to ask about the children's wellbeing and whether they felt cared for and safe in school.  They spoke lots about friendships in school and online and what they do when any problems arise.  Thy spoke about how they travel to and from school and also what they enjoy about the curriculum and their learning.

The feeling from the governors was that this was a vocal group who were very articulate in expressing their views. They were honest in their feedback and had a strong sense of friendship, fairness and justice. They enjoy their time in school in and are seeking out opportunities to learn in a variety of different ways.  Their enjoyment of trips and visitors in to school was clear. There is a trust with the teaching staff that staff can be relied upon if matters are reported.  The meeting was summed up with the everyone acknowledging that friendships were key and important to the everyone concerned.

Thank you School Council for supporting our governors to "Do all the good they can"

Student Council and Eco Council worked together to create a 'Bee Friendly' area for our Boothstown Bee.
