Year 1

Welcome to Year 1!

There are 28 children in our class. Our teacher is Mrs Jones and our teaching assistant is Mrs Smith. Mrs Dugdale works with us on a Tuesday. Our Class Governor is Mrs Lester.

Planting our broad beans! We are investigating what plants needs to grow.

We had fun making ourselves into knights with moving arms and legs as part of our topic.

Y1 had to find the hidden eggs in the school grounds this morning! Inside each egg was either a real or alien word, we then had to read and sort them. We were all rewarded with a chocolate treat!

We had a great time tasting some exotic fruits this afternoon! The mango and pineapple were our favourite. Lots of us also enjoyed trying some passionfruit and avacado for the first time too. Yum yum!

We had a fantastic Polar Art day today with Paul Pickford. We created polar bear silhouette pictures and pop up cards!

Writing instructions of how to make hot chocolate this morning, and checking that they work! Delicious!

Our animal display! In Science we have been looking at different types of animals and how we can keep them happy and healthy.

Y1 have looked at Where the Poppies Now Grow this week. We have made poppies and written postcards home to our families. Super work!

Y1 had a fantastic Superhero day today to celebrate the end of our topic.

We went on a minibeast hunt outside in the woodland trail this morning.

Our Handwriter of the Week! Well done Jacob!

Practising our throwing and catching skills in PE this morning.

Practising our number formation on the playground.

Y1 were scientists this afternoon. We had to observe photographs of us as babies and discuss the changes. We played a game called Guess the Baby!
