Fossil Workshop
Creating our own Great Fire!
We made Stuart houses using cardboard boxes, paint and straw based on pictures we had seen from our Great Fire of London non-fiction books. Before setting some of the houses alight, we placed them close together because the streets were narrow in 1666. We watched the flames spread quickly in the wind from house to house until there were only ashes left.
Freshwater Theatre Company visit Year 2
We took part in an exciting drama workshop, where we learnt all about the events of the Great Fire of London. We recreated scenes of everyday life in Pudding Lane, the fire itself, the frantic escape and made decisions about how to rebuild the city. We met Samuel Pepys, King Charles II and the Lord Mayor of London along the way!
