Reception

Hello Reception,

I hope you have all had a good week. Next week’s home learning is all about music, a topic I know we all enjoy! Manchester Museum have created a bank of interesting activities that you might want to try https://www.mminquarantine.com/resource-for-home-educators-and-fam

Normally we would have our Sports Day this week, but as we can’t I have attached Ed Start’s Virtual Sports week for us all to compete in! Let me know how you get on!

Please take a look at the PTA fundraiser below.

We miss you!

Miss Sloman

Hi Reception                                                                                                                                                                     26/06/20

I hope that you are all having fun.

For the learning Project this week Handa’s surprise is the story focus. I would love to see more fantastic work so don't forget to send some pictures in to Tapestry. This week, Reverend Garfield will be posting an online assembly which can be found on this link- Lost Sheep.

I have enjoyed writing your reports. It has been lovely thinking of what superstars you all are and how hard you have all worked this year.

I hope that you all have a great week. Take care.

Hi Reception,                                                           12/06/20

I hope that you've all had a nice week and that you and your families are keeping well. The learning this week will focus on 'Rainforests'. Hopefully, you will enjoy the story focus for this week which is ‘The Tiger Who Came to Tea’ by Judith Kerr. I have read the story and posted it to Tapestry. The story is also on Youtube so I have added the link if you would like to listen to it. I’m enjoying seeing your fabulous work and the lovely things you have been doing with your families.

Keep up the good work!

Miss Sloman

Hi Reception,                                                                                                                                                       08/06/20

Thank you again for your fantastic contributions to Tapestry. I am so proud of how hard you are trying. Don’t forget to put a note on any posted photos that you want shared with your friends on the website. Next week's Learning Project will be 'Sport', which I know many of you will really enjoy! Alongside learning about sport we will be completing some tasks using a story by Julia Donaldson called The Princess and the Wizard. I have read it to you on Tapestry, I hope you enjoy it. Below I have added a Joyful June Acts of Kindness calendar, which includes thirty ways to look after ourselves.

Take care,

Miss Sloman

Hi Reception.                                                                                                                                                             01/06/20

Hope you've been enjoying the sunshine. Thank you for all your contributions to Tapestry. Me and Miss Neill have been looking at all the things you've been doing. You are all working so hard! I keep looking on phonics bug, it shows me what books you've read and I have been so impressed with your reading. I will keep adding new books as you complete them. Next weeks learning is about animals that live in the ocean and I know how much a lot of you love to learn about animals. Looking forward to seeing your posts this week.

Next week is half term I hope this means that you are able to be with your families and enjoyed some quality time.

There is no home learning next week, but BBC bitesize daily lessons will still be available if you want to take part.

Hi Reception,

I have loved watching the video! I enjoyed seeing how much you’ve grown. A thank you to your parents for putting the video together, it made me smile seeing you. I have also loved being able to speak to your families and some of you over the phone this week. I’m glad you have been busy and trying hard at home, keep up the good work! Keep sending in the photos through Tapestry or email. We all miss you and hope that you are having fun, playing and enjoying your time at home!

Hi Reception,                                                                                                                                                      08/05/2020

Hope you have all had a good week. We are really missing you all! It's been lovely to see your photos again this week. I hope you have been enjoying the lovely weather again. I know you might be marking the 75th anniversary of VE day. We coloured bunting in our house because there is lots of bunting up on our road and people are sat in their gardens having picnics! It is a special day to think about all those who fought for our country.

Have you started on the May PE challenge posted last week? We have been having a go at my house. We have also been enjoying Zumba Kids and Cosmic Yoga.

I hope the bank holiday weekend means that you had a rest with your families and enjoyed some quality time. Next week the home learning is all about food. I miss reading to you all in class, I will post a story to tapestry next week.

Hi Reception!                                                                                                                                                                          01/05/20

Hope you have all had a good week. I’m looking forward to hearing about the new things you have been learning to do at home, I've been teaching myself how to use new computer programs and teaching my daughter Isabelle how to tidy up her toys. All the adults in Reception miss you all. Mrs Morrison has been writing cards and letters to her family and Miss Ali has been making a wildlife pond. Miss Robinson has been home schooling her children and having a daily walk. We have loved seeing your pictures showing what you have been up to at home, you are all trying so hard! It's been great to see you all playing and learning, remember to just do what you can and have fun.

Keep safe and keep smiling,

Miss Sloman.

Hi Reception,

I hope you have all had a good week enjoying the sun. The pictures on Tapestry certainly look like you have! I have been enjoying seeing all the things you have been doing at home. I can see lots of you have been enjoying reading at home. I know you enjoyed the Supertato book on World Book Day so I’m pleased to see you enjoyed the Evil Pea English and Maths tasks. Online learning this week is all about Animals. We were going to learn about amazing Animals this half term as I know how many of you love to learn Animal facts.

I have shared some home learning photos of your friends on the website for you to enjoy.

Take care,

Miss Sloman
