We start school at 8:55 am. Our day in Reception begins with the children hanging up their coat up, emptying their school bag, self registering, choosing their lunch option and joining their friends on the carpet. All before 9.00!

We begin most mornings with phonics, which is delivered in small groups according to children’s next steps. Then we chose our own learning in continuous provision indoor and outdoor whilst engaging in adult led tasks. Snack time is at 10.10. The morning ends with our math sessions. 

The afternoons vary depending on the day. Monday, Wednesday and Friday are topic based afternoons. Then we chose our own learning in continuous provision indoor and outdoor whilst engaging in adult led topic tasks.

Tuesday is guided reading and Thursday is P.E, which is delivered by a sports coach.

Other timetabled activities include music on a Friday afternoon with Mrs Garfield. On a Tuesday morning we have gymnastics with our specialist gym teacher in the school hall. Every Wednesday morning before phonics we join the whole school for a worship assembly. Each week children read individually to a Teacher and take part in guided group reading.

For Reception children home time is at 3:20 pm.
