Student Council have been planning on how to deliver Democracy Week and will be filming an introductory video in their next meeting. The video will outline what democracy is, it's importance and how our own school voting system will work this year.
Student Council met to discuss this year so far and what have been the main challenges and what has worked well and could be continued into next year. They then fed back to their classes and spent time gathering more pupil voice. The main outcomes so far are :
- Although this year has been different, and in many ways difficult, pupil voice has shown that there have been many positive outcomes too.
- The lack of enrichment, especially school trips, was raised. This will be a focus when it is safe to do so. We already have visitors and some workshops starting back up in school.
- Staff have worked hard to make the students feel safe and supported.
- A thought box will be set up in each classroom for pupils to (anonymously) share their thoughts/concerns/worries. These will be monitored by student council and fed back in their meetings.
